Screentime going bananas? Here’s why!

I was discussing phone usage with some friends the other day and we compared our ScreenTime. I almost fell off the chair and the others were seriously shocked as well: 8+ hours of screen time per day? What on earth had happened to me? I was certain that I had used my phone less than average that week, and the next week it was even worse.
How can anyone have 10 hours and 31 minutes average time per day on the phone while still having a job/life? I'm usually in front of my Mac 8 hours per day, so this just does not add up. There had to be something seriously wrong with how the iPhone calculates ScreenTime? Here's my last 3 weeks of screentime:

Now I obviously spend a lot of time on Youtube, but I don't watch TV more than maybe an hour or two per week so I don't feel bad about that. Youtube is quite literally my TV. The total time is however crazy, but none of the apps are actually showing the increased ScreenTime?
I thought back. About a month ago, I picked up a wireless charger to use as a night stand and I also have one in my office. It's brilliant to always start the day with a fully charged phone and the rise happened about the time I discovered the brilliant Standby mode. When you put the phone on the charger and rotate it to horizontal mode, it'll display a clock or other useful things. It'll turn the screen off completely, but if it detects motion at night it'll turn on the display showing the clock. This is brilliant since you can see the time when you go to bed, and then you can easily check it when you get up - no matter if it's dark outside (as it is in Norway this time of the year).
It struck me that this must be it? As you can see from the above image - when I stopped rotating the phone, the Screentime went back to something more sensible. So - this is definitely a bug in iOS and if you've wondered why you have absolutely extreme/crazy Screen time, but for no obvious reason - this might just be why. I've reported this bug to Apple via their feedback form.
